You can ask questions in this thread. I will maintain an FAQ on the top.

Where can I get more information about the company, the technology, the product?
 http://www.imagingluminary.com

How to post images on this forum
When creating new posts or editing existing ones, click on the "Additional Options" link just below the text box; you will see the image uploading button.

Can I upload samples and results
The forum allows attached images up to 2M bytes per image. We also have a public ftp space for everyone:
use your favorite ftp client to access http://ftp://ftp.imagingluminary.org
user name: public@imagingluminary.org
password: public
If you need private ftp space please contact us.

Would you support raw format from camera model X?
The answer is usually yes, with these conditions:
 1. before we can afford buying all cameras ever made, we need enough raw file samples. We can provide ftp space but we need camera users to help us.
 2. Your camera represents considerable investment for you. But you must understand our todo list is very long and this may or may not be a top priority item. As long as we have resource to work on the formats, we love to support every format known to mankind.

Do you have a batch processing tool?
Actually we do and it is a command line tool today. We expect to expose that to our users in the GUI form very soon (as of 7-19-2008)

There is one. But since we did not pay enough attention to the UI design in this build, the "OK" button may be too small to be noticed. It looks like this on my computer screen:

I'm on the house computer now and I can see the "ok" selection button. But it just is'nt coming up on the computer at the office.

So I sent the pentax raw samples and I'm wondering if you got them. They are for the k100d.

I see. The button is squeezed off the screen.

Let me fix it now and provide an update.

Probably same problem here: cursor for smooth > 40 goes off screen

It seems that one can get just about as good a result from using one over-exposed jpg file as from three RAW files!  I assume that this must be because virtually all the information needed to process is found in an over-exposed file - certainly, it doesn't work as well with an under-exposed image.

And a question: I'm not clear about how tone mapping and detail revealing work together - if I adjust both but click on OK with one of them, are all changes in both sections implementd - or do I have to modify each in turn?

DR and FTB are two mutually exclusive tone mapping algorithms. In most of the cases, both algorithms expect a reasonably high dynamic range source (such as 3 jpegs) as source.

However, in theory you can take one's result as the input to feed into another one, just like you can run either tonemapping algirthm using a single 8-bit RGB jpeg source. The software does not limit you on that.

As for your first comment, the 3 raw files may contain redundant information that is of little help to the tonemapping algorithms. But a single over-exposed jpeg? Wouldn't you lose details in the highlights?

I really like what I am seeing here I am a longtime photomatix user.  2 things I am not seeing. 1 is batching. I usually batch a few undred photos per day and I dont see but have have read about batching on the boards. Am I missing something or it is not implemented yet? Is there a way to create and save settings as well?

batch tool is coming up soon.

in the preview dialog you can click on the button on top that says "Tonemap Parameter Set" that can do load/save of parameters. We will raise the visibility of this button in the next update. Thanks.

I just purchased your program and am impressed, however, the export dropdown only lists cs2 cs3 and elements. Is there a way to get cs4? I couldn't find it in anything I can change.

Thanks,
Dick

Dick,

A quick look around the program makes me believe that translation to CS4 will be handled similarly to passing the image to CS2 or CS3, both of which involve their own DLL for proper parsing and handles.  CS4 probably requires the addition of a menu item, small subroutine, and inclusion of PS4 DLL into the build.  Maybe an update?
