Will the new patch support Canon 7d RAW CR2 files?  I thought that was supported reading the FAQ but whenever I open RAW Canon 7d files I get a highly distorted black and pink image.

yes please see this version:

http://www.imagingluminary.com/B34B356F-41C0-4632-AEDE-563A20819AEA/EssentialHDR.1.0.626.setup.zip

The only reason we did not officially release version 626 was due to a new investigation into 5D2 raw file merge issue on some user's computers.

I am a new user who has just purchased the standard product because it has received some positive reviews.

However, I have to say that I have also found that version 1.0.623 will not merge 5DII images.  I have not tried 1DsIII images yet.

I use an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor,  3GB RAM,  32-Bit Vista with Service Pack 1

Two images will merge, three will sometimes merge but mostly not and any more than 3 will never merge [and my HDR sets usually have 3-7 images so that's not tremendously useful ! ]   However, the product is interesting and will import and tone map *.hdr files which have been created in Photomatix.

I have other machines available but before testing them note that you have said that only "some" machines behave like this. Can you say whether machines running, say Windows 7 64-bit, don't have this problem or is it not that simple ?   Is there any work-around until you can solve the problem ?

In case it's relevant: there is no error message, it happens with 16-bit per channel *.tiff images and *.cr2 images, and within a few seconds of starting the merge process the application simply vanishes.

I'm happy to try different combinations if that would be helpful.

Can you post the 626 community/trial version up on the download site too, or point to it here so I can try it?  I'm still in evaluation mode for the product so I haven't purchased yet.  I would like to ensure that the scenarios I want to use (namely utilizing canon 7d raw files for tonemapping) work properly before purchasing.
