Now Microsoft is getting stronger; I would expect its competitors also try to merge and create stronger competitors. What do you think of the chances that Apple merge with Adobe? Lightroom merges with Aperture?

That would be insane.  I dont know too much about the intricacies of the industry, but i suppose it might be a smart move - Macs are generally the pro choice for "creative" applications no? And Adobe seem to be the supplier of the industry standards at least as far as 2D goes... but would it not create some sort of backlash for Adobe's relation with Microsoft? After all, you are building this on a PC platform and a lot of people still use PCs with adobe's product range (myself included - but that is only because i am also an avid PC gamer).

Not sure about this, Adobe are in a pretty strong position without any major rivals to their products. There is nothing out there at the moment as far as I am aware that matches the power of Photoshop, lightroom is far superior to Aperture, They own the `Flash` brand which would take one hell of a product to beat it.

Also, Microsoft buying Yahoo is, as they are saying, a shotgun wedding, with Google being the ones holding the shotgun :-)
