Brightness range
«
on:

I find the output is often too bright, and the brightness slider just doesn't have enough range to bring the image back to where I feel it should be.
Is there any plan to enhance this control, or a more general "exposure" control?
Thanks
Jon

good suggestion. Till now we sort of left that to Photoshop or other tools. But it can be done.
What if the exposure control causes clipping? Is that acceptable?

I agree that the brightness control range feels too narrow and
often leaves the image requiring further processing to darken.
It is sometimes desirable to have clipping so the slider range
could be continued to reduce brightness in a non-linear way
(avoiding clipping) and an additional black point slider or % box
could be added to deliberately define the blacks.

That is correct observation. However, one must remember the brightness slider is controlling an internal step in the tonemapping, not just a post-processing step such as "exposure adjustment" in other applications.
We will strengthen the post-processing steps in version 1.1 to address this problem.
