Someone please shed some lights on this:

Each day I am amazed to see the creative things people can do with Photoshop. Considering the amount of investments this community has made into Photoshop, I doubt Adobe will throw it away soon. What is Adobe trying to do with Lightroom? Is it really possible for Lightroom to replace Photoshop in the future? Or you think they will co-exist?

They will coexist... Photoshop is a lot more than Lightroom.

Lightroom is an application made by photographers for photographers. It's purpose is to help photographers manage their photos with ease and in a better way that Photoshop.

Photoshop on the other hand is an application for lots of purposes and not just photography. For instance, I use it a lot for webdesign.

I'm not a professional photographer nor I take lots of photos everyday but, until Lightroom was available and I knew about it, I didn't even cared about post-processing my photos. Although Photoshop has the tools for it, Lightroom just made everything much easier and powerful.

They are different applications with slightly different markets. Many people will need Photoshop, only photographers need Lightroom. Although, some photographers still use Photoshop along with Lightroom or don't use Lightroom at all because there are still a couple of things that some photographers do in Photoshop that can't be done in Lightroom (at least for now).

Well, this is what I think...
