Hi, are you planning to include support for Fuji S3/S5 RAF files (both S & R pixels from the RAF file) ?

a good point with the S5 this is necessary from time to time. There is just too much information in the highlights..

I just uploaded a test RAF file (DSCF0735.raf) where the sensor is just under its limit. I picked up one image from a bracketing sequence, where
a) Adobe Lightroom still sees details in the highlights, even when dragging the exposure to -4EV b) the highlights remain the color (no magenta color cast which happens if we go just over the limit)
Good Luck! The S5 is a great camera, but sometimes it's a little bit difficult to process the images if the full dynamic range is used.

Hi there, I just bought a Fuji S5 and also Essential HDR. Althoug I can work with 9 AEB shots in jpg, I think RAF file support would be great.
Any news on this feature?
Thanks, J

hello,
We use "dcraw" for raw file loading. Due to a licensing conflict, we can not support Fuji S3/S5 camera raw format. However, you can convert the camera raw into jpeg or tiff file then run Essential HDR.
If there are ways to get around this in the future, we will implement the solution that is available.

dcraw can decode both partial images from the RAF file . Parameters -s 0 and -s 1 ...

You are absolutely right. However, the dcraw's source code has specified the Fuji camera raw parsing is patent-protected and it is under a different license than the rest of the code. So, if you want, download dcraw and port camera raw files into TIFF then use Essential HDR. We just can not integrate it inside of Essential HDR yet.
We will try to find out: (1) if we can license it from either Fuji, Foveon, or Dave (the author of dcraw); (2) if there are legal issues surrounding it; (3) and if we can afford the license.

Yes. I was mistaken Fuji with Sigma. In that case we will add it tomorrow.
